Arusha Food Tour:
The Arusha food tour is a professionally guided tour of the local food and beverage scene and may include hands-on workshops. Food tours can be a great way to get a taste for local ingredients and artisan products as well as to learn the history and culture of Arusha people, particularly with respect to how it influenced the development of the cuisine.
The nature and duration of the tour will vary. They are typically conducted in groups, though private or small group tours may also be available. Common examples are a walking tour of the restaurants and shops in a particular neighborhood or a bus tour of a city’s ethnic neighborhoods City or country tours may also be conducted by bicycle, Segway, or private car service!
Often food tours will cost between $20-70 per person, depending with the group size, what is included and duration of the tour. Longer tours or tours with additional amenities may cost more!

Lifted Strong Traditional Tanzanian Cooking Class
With the guidance of the Mama’s you will learn how to make local dishes and discover the unique flavors of Tanzanian cooking whilst learning about the extraordinary work that Lifted Strong do for women in their community. As part of this class you will help to prepare the produce using traditional techniques and also learn their Swahili names from the Mama’s.
Then you will be taught how to make up each dish and cook it in the outdoor kitchen here at Lifted Strong. Whilst waiting for the food to cook, learn about the lives of the Mama’s as well as how Lifted Strong has helped them start their own businesses.
Also be prepared to join in with a song and dance as the Mama’s love to boogie! We can cater for vegetarians and vegans but please let us know in advance of the class. We don’t provide drinks so please bring your own beverages to enjoy with your food. Our weekly Thursday class starts at 2:30pm, and let us know if you would like to be met on the road.

Lifted strong is set back from the main Ngaramtoni Road – Near CRDB BANK, visitors can arrange to be met on the road or if they are using a taxi then they can be dropped off at Lifted Strong. You can also find the location through Google Maps.
